The dudes who are willing to overpay for female attention aren't generally the ones that are complaining. Those are the men who pedestalize women and believe they are sugar and spice and everything nice. What reason would they have to complain when they are getting what they want in the short to medium term? They get relationships, sex and the matching pajamas during Christmas and even can get the marriage and children. The men who are complaining the most are the men struggling to get matches or can't afford the expensive date even if they wanted to. They are the ones who are jaded by the whole dating environment.
The issue with your analogy is that there are women that will hold onto the car without budging from the asking even though the car has depreciated all its value. And while they are telling one dude that is the asking price they are loaning the car to people that don't take care of it further depreciating even more.
