Anyway. Today's short features the title track on the return of the Mark II Deep Purple lineup, October 1984 release, Perfect Strangers. What a return it was!!
For the uninitiated, the MKII lineup consisted of, Ian Gillan - vocals, Ritchie Blackmore - guitar, Roger Glover - Bass, Ian Paice - Drums, and the amazing Jon Lord (RIP) - Keys. The subsequent U.S. tour in 1985 outsold every other artist on tour in the U.S. that year, with the exception of Bruce Springsteen supporting his massive album Born In The USA that came out in June of 1984.
I first heard this album in the autumn (perhaps just before Xmas) in 1984 and immediately thought it was amazing! I got it shortly thereafter. I hope you enjoy this one as much as I always have.

I have every deep purple album and I truly think that this is the best song they do. I usually look for fast moving hard rock, but I just think that everyone in the band was at their best on this song and album. Great memories here and I have to go jam this with the headphones now. I saw this tour, stood 10 feet from Richie Blackmore. It changed my opinion of great guitarist. I also saw Krokus and Gary Moore open for Def Leopard. Moore was incredible just like Richie.
