You could use "might want" instead of "need" in this case. Cos what you need, is experience, not gear.

Yes it bypasses the field effect transistor compression stage but still goes through the amplification stage and drives the output transformer to saturate with even and odd harmonics. Transistors saturate odd but transformers like tape and tubes saturate evenly more focused on low frequencies, most solid state discrete audio equipment can give you this result it’s not just an 1176 thing, it’s just the sound of driving a circuit .

I recently purchased the Neve 5254 Dual Diode Bridge Compressor for the vocal chain in my small studio.
I can honestly say, in my humble opinion, with 20+ years of recording vocals, the Neve 5254 is one of the best sounding compressors I have ever heard and/or used.
It's virtually impossible to make sound "bad"!
It is also spectacular sounding on bass, guitars, and anywhere else you may want or need compression.
Even the Master Buss.

lol actually when compressor is on, the level is obviously higher , few db louder. also compressor's saturation is making the vocal cut thru

If you get all the things with plugins, why do u need gears? If you want to get exact hardware effect, use two compressors plug in instead of one. For color, use light distortion, exciter, saturation plugins.
