The facts about NordStream: 1. Germany didn't have real damage, because the pipeline was politically dead. 2. The zombie pipeline still posed a risk, because pro-Russian actors would pressure the government through the energy crisis, winter 22/23, in the worst case make it cave in to continue gas imports at Russian terms. 3. If it was Russia, it would have thrown away it's greatest tool of pressure, which it used before in multiple ways.
So I don't think it was the Russians, although it is still possible, that Ukrainian suspects were in fact pro-Russian actors, such as the sailboat owner, who disappeared to Crimea. I mean, there are serious investigations, not wild speculations. I hope at least one of our German politicians stands up and speaks the facts: Nord Stream was a mistake, there will, in no way, be any more cheap gas from Russia, the pipelines were a liability and we should be happy that they're gone!

Apologies. A bit off topic. Could you please either debunk or add credibility to the “theory” that China is waiting for Russia to be a totally spent force due to their war with Ukraine and plan to get Manchuria back rather than think about attacking Taiwan? Many thanks in advance if you could say a few words on this.

I know a lot of people say it doesnt matter, but it does. THe implications are heavy. It implies that "allies" can destroy infrastructure that another uses, because of it is not conveniant for them. It would be like Europe blowing up American shale because of their climate goals.
I agree we probably wont find out until after the war, but this will damage Western trust either way. It will point that facts and truth dont matter as much as mcuh as winning, which is counter to the Western Narrative. What's more, if it was the American's and/or the Ukrainians, it will destroy a lot of trust between them and Europe, as it attacks at the heart of European Autonomy for those nations to decide their own fates.

Your argument makes zero sense. To the point that after your "assessment" that Russia did tt, I stopped watching your channel altogether.
Look at public discourse. Russia has been praising Nord stream. While Poland's MFA repeatedly called it the "Second Molotov-Ribbentrop" pact.
Look at history: Russia used its gas weapon to pressure Ukraine in the past. Just months before the opening of Baltic Pipe, it invaded Ukraine.
Look at the technical set up of Nordstream: Russia had control over the flow of gas as they saw fit. The downstream countries did not. Why on earth would the Russians destroy a pipeline they could just turn off?
Look at finances. It is very expensive to build. Russia was even more dependent on its revenue, than downstream countries were on its gas.
Russia's war is an illegal, horrible foreign policy blunder. But to argue that because of "Russia is bad", Russia must have done this as well, is just scientifically lazy propaganda.

To everyone commenting here, please note that this is not a new video. It is from a longer video that was published in February 2023. The reason I republish it is obviously not that I think it’s wrong, but that I think there is a relevant point for today. The story about some divers in a sailing boat is so fantastic that we need to approach it with skepticism.
