Yes, my narc mother would get angry about the smallest things. But if the small thing was still too small to rationalize her anger, she'd "embellish" reality, adding extra false details that weren't real.π€·π½ββοΈ
And on those days when even the smallest things were completely non-existant she'd get angry about nothing at all. At those times she'd just manufacture things to get angry about. IOW, she would lie outright. She'd make something up in her head, convince herself it was really true, then rage about it to the person she decided was at fault. Crazy-making.π€π‘π₯΄

A lot of sympathetic stuff is being said to almost make you feel that there are LEVELS of acceptable toxicity compared to intolerable versions and the same is said about their so called FRAGILE EGOS. Most therapists agree that they are ego syntonic predators. Everything presents a threat to their supremacy. Unless you have servitude in mind THEY CAN'T HEAR YOU . Whatever they do to their victims is no biggie. Strategies are always the same. Initially they admire who you are, then you shame them by being too good and eclipse them, then if you refuse to dim your light they abandon you. In between they keep making promises they aren't going to keep and hope they can guilt trip you into saying yes to everything or else you'll be punished for non compliance. You DON'T need a diagnosis or a spectrum assumption when treated badly by a liberty taker who gives nothing back and hopes you'll STAY in a one sided relationship. Therapy only trains them better in the art of pretending they have improved in , academy award acting,, as if they have empathy and kindness so their victims will later ask, how did i end up here in the first place? Conning people is a SUPER POWER, why would they ever want to BE HELPED to permanently GIVE IT UP!
