I have made a jigsaw table, and I have a commercial jigsaw table (though a cheap one). Even with a thick blade, the flex is more than I like. Those blade stabilisers with bearing (like on a band saw) or simply a piece of wood with a slot in it to fit the blade would seem to be a necessary addition to make this a worthwhile application of a jig saw.

You dont need a bracket. Clamp the jigsaw in place, drill 4x holes though the table and the jigsaw base. Then drill the holes in the table slightly larger and countersink them. Then tap a thread into the jigsaw base. Now use a countersunk bolt and screw the jigsaw into the table.

If you had ever experienced the imense precision of a scroll saw you wouldn't say that.
I cut out some involute gears out of plastic for a project and they worked perfectly. This is definitely handy but not even as precise as a bandsaw.
