Centuries before the rise of modern social sciences, the brilliant Muslim thinker Ibn Khaldun (born in 1332 in Tunis) laid the intellectual foundations of sociology, economics, and historiography.

In his timeless masterpiece, the Muqaddimah (Introduction to History), he explained with clarity how civilizations rise and fall, why economies flourish or collapse, and how culture and social cohesion shape history.

Ibn Khaldun introduced concepts like labor, supply and demand, taxation, and group solidarity—ideas that Western scholars would only begin to explore centuries later. Because of his groundbreaking insights, he is honored worldwide as the Father of Sociology and Economics.

His vision was so advanced that even modern historians and economists continue to study his works for inspiration and wisdom. Ibn Khaldun proved that understanding human society is just as important as studying science, making him one of the greatest intellectuals of the Islamic Golden Age.
