Don't forget Chinese labour are highly skilled, Tim Cook said. If you want a skilled labour in India you would have to pay 40K to 60K. And quality matrices in India are pathetic.

Flawed comparison.
Did not consider skill and speed of delivery.
Did not consider Purchase Power Parity.

Transportation costs are higher and infrastructure is way behind China, also skilled labour is not abundant... We have lots of unskilled labour.

Productivity, efficiency, Technological development and skilled labour . So these factors do not play out😂

it is also about productivity , they have high tech machines which do heavy lifting , so they actually require less workers to make high tech products.
so first focus should be to build such high tech products and its tech + hardware require for it but it either require R&D or copy from china , we are not good in R&d So try to copy and replicate in India as much

Cheap labor?
Efficiency, consistency out of the chart. We are the most undisciplined people I ever seen. Every efficient labour I ever hired has climbed ranks. From labour to mestri to contractor to builder to developer to politician.

I m in manufacturing, the truth is power is very expensive. Labor dosent wana work. Transportation time is more and is expensive. We employ 400 people and there is always some political issue- some karyakarta comes up with a demand. We always have one or the other government notice. These departments have a mentality that a manufacturer is a thief

This is nice to hear , but almost every start is importing from China and white labeling it and selling in India.
Nobody wants to grow through the painful process of setting up manufacturing which takes a long time.

Raghuram Rajan in his book Breaking the mould writes that India should focus on service based businesses and manufacturing as service based businesses rather than competing with China on cheap labour and assembly game.
Best value additon is on R&D, branding and (third point I'm forgetting).

Everyone talks about keeping labour costs low until it comes to their paycheck, then efficiency and keeping costs low fly out the window.

Guys learning curve is something we should not forget.
Labour can be trained and effective and efficiency can be achieved easily.
Chinese are not born efficent they are hard working people who wants to learn and same gose for our people if you guys cant trust our people then how in the world others will do.

Tim talked about this issue. The main issue is that a big company requires a huge quantity of skilled labour which India lacks for now

Extremely effective labour in China, they can easily work at a productivity level of 5x or more than an avg. Indian labour.
