I watched our little friend there quite a few years ago whilst standing on the end of the jetty with a group of other people where I take my dogs for a walk first thing in the morning. All looking up and pointing, It was quite a lot smaller back then.
Magnetic field strength uses the inverse square law (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inverse-square_law) which means that means it's going to be picking up speed massively soon.
It's interesting to see just how many people are posting videos of it on youtube,
If you setup the camera on a tripod and use the same settings everyday some comparisons could be made to get an idea on quite how quickly it's growing in size.
You seem to be a in a great spot to view it.
