Have you ever heard this comment from your teacher? - I definitely did! 😂👉But what does it mean, and how to achieve it?

Groundedness is an important concept in belly dance. But it’s not an actual movement.

It’s more like a quality, mood, impression…. Call it whatever you want, but it’s something that you can’t touch, point or separate. Yet, you definitely see it’s absence if a belly dancer is not grounded. 😳

But it gets even tricker when you try to teach it to someone. You can come up with as many metaphors as you want (“feel heavy in your hips”, “initiate movements from your pelvis”, etc) , but if it’s only in a student’s mind, it won’t make any difference for her dance skills.

Creating an intensive on Finding Groundedness required more than just recording classes and combos. 👉That’s why I also included there a whole 20-min meditation practice dedicated to connecting with your body and finding the feeling of groundedness.
