In summer of 1966 I got job with city parks department painting city tennis courts. I was partnered with long time deaf employee to do work. We had a quota of jobs. He showed me how to use roller on long arm. Second day out I dumped one 5 gallon bucket green paint and with a squeeze on the truck did a 3 hour job in 20 minutes. My deaf partner was so happy. We could meet our daily quota of two courts by noon and nap in park shade or swim in public pool all afternoon. He made me swear never to tell anyone. Three months of summer department work when I was 16

Guys backroll backward so you do not leave spike marks. It is also easier to squeegee with it behind you on your hip and walk on DRY concrete.
