Love these short shorts. Last year I grew parsley inside. It grew well, but I hated the mold gnats. I'm not going anything inside right now. I'm gonna bake my starter mix before I do my seed starts this year, too. I really hate the gnats.

We’ve been spared the cold stuff here so far. As soon as the Christmas stuff gets put away the herbs are coming out!!

Another thing I do during winter is make bio char. The snow is usually on the ground and my property always has fuel available. It's a perfect time to clean up and work more towards Sustainable Permaculture. I could also use the logs and brush to make a huegel culture bed. Chip them up or char them either way it's all good ways to stop killing the soil and start building the soil.
Happy Sustainable Permaculture New Year!!

Well, you did it again. Even plain folk like me can understand that video, and my door’s always open for more. Thank you.

I absolutely love chives and they are so hard to buy fresh in my area! Wish me luck!

Great video Jeff. Cheers!
I have a quick garlic question.
My garlic has sprouted to about 12 inches due to very mild weather here in Germany.
If I harvested the shoots now, do you think there will still be time for shoots to regrow and for good clove development, as it's only December, or will removing the shoots prevent clove growth during spring? Those shoots are so tasty fried up with mushrooms and bacon.
Interested in your opinion.

My chives stay outdoors all winter in zone 7a. Freezing weather hasn't harmed them in two years.

I couldn’t keep my dill alive last season. It was my first time growing it. I usually grow rosemary & basil. Any tips would be appreciated.

I know it is not mentioned on this short; yet, I have a mint plant from home depot and wondering how to get it to become full?
