On the other hand if you can't explain something in simple terms chances are you don't understand it too. Having kids helps a lot as you need to answer many questions in the way they will understand. Recently I was doing an HTB box and my daughter (6 y.o.) asked me what I was doing (she saw the nmap enumeration) so and I had to explain the ports by using a house with many doors leading to different rooms.
