The pencil tips do actually wear away if you have a paper like screen protector (or that new screen) and draw or write notes a lot.

I have experienced Apple Pencil tip wear. I used it heavily for music theory work in college. It does in fact happen trust me!

4 Apple Pencil tips for $19 doesn’t seem crazy to me. They do wear down if you use a paper-like screen protector. I’m sure all 4 of them cost like 10 cents for Apple to make but considering the prices of everything else they sell, it doesn’t seem that bad 😂

Matte screen protectors can wear Apple Pencil tips out. Also the white AirPods Max replacement came in clutch when mine got dirty
