I don't go that expensive but most of the cheaper ones have an aftertaste that is...bad, that's not the right word but they are different and give a off unpleasant aftertaste. You do not have to go crazy expensive to get something serviceable Blend 94 from breakaway matcha is wonderful for people just starting out or wanting to try matcha out for around $50 if you get the small bottle. It is a bit pricy but it does 30 servings so you can try it without completely breaking the bank.

the plastic whisk is like 60% of the problem - the bamboo whisk is what actually gives it the creaminess and stirs the matcha well, you should try it properly
