Its not actually glue its solvent. It melts the 2 pieces of plastic and more or less welds them together

there is a big difference between glue and cement, its not just branding. a glue is a different material sticking two things together but a CEMENT is something you apply that literally melts the pvc plastic pipes itself, mixes them together and when the cement evaporates away you literally have welded the pvc pipes together... if you want an even stronger bond then scrape the oxide layer on the outside of the plastic away first, a paint scraper works well. but again just remember that with cement like that you have literally welded the plastic together not just glued it

My medium CA glue can do the same. The bond is stronger than most of the materials I print. The part can shatter but the area around the bond remains intact.

When you said "its the only shape that can do *this*" all I could think about was the SNL skit "Look what I can do" 😅

It would be more helpful if you could tell us something more specific such as the chemical name for the cement that’s used

Honestly I imagine the 3d printed part would just make it worse. At least in regard to strength.
Like it would just pull itself apart before the normal glue/pvc bond would give out.

Thats a great idea! Sorry if this is a silly question but what filaments would be most compatable with the pvc cement?

Hey I’m trying to figure out what those silicone caps are called you have on the caulking tips? Seems like a great way from keeping the silicone in the tip from hardening up
