Also, Knuckles' Chaotix was originally titled "Chaotix" in Japan, however the American version added "Knuckles" in the title just to appeal to a Western audience after the success of Sonic 3 and Knuckles. This is also evidenced by how in the title screen it just says "Chaotix". Also, due to this, Knuckles The Echidna is not the star of the game, instead it's Charmy Bee. Originally the game was going to be released on Sega Genesis with a playable Sonic, with the title being called "Sonic Crackers" which is a misromanization of the English word "clackers" which references the game's mechanic. Also, because the corner said April 1st which is April Fool's Day, people thought the prototype known as "Sonic Crackers" is a hoax, but it's actually real. Originally you played as Sonic and Tails, attached with one another with the ring attachment mechanic, but they were scrapped from the game. However, Sonic has been recolored to become Mighty The Armadillo, Tails exists in the game's code, but as Knuckles with Tails's color palette, which leads to a glitchy mess of a character dubbed "Wechnia".

I emulated the chaotix and i enjoyed the game its very fun.

Honestly after giving it a go on an emulator, it isn't awful, it's ok, and I would be down if Sega or a fan remade it. Maybe a New Game Plus that expands the stages and you can play proper Sonic levels without the rings and buddy system, unlocking Ray, Sonic, and Tails as playable characters (sure throw in Amy too lol).
It might be a bad to mid game... but I see potential there, it could be something more. Look at Project 06 or Noah Copeland's Triple Trouble remakes.

32x was basically a snes: it got superfx like polygones + rotations and sprite zoom and also a gba like soundchip

I emulated Chaotix last year and got the good ending. Interesting mechanics, utterly boring game.

I mean I've heard about Knuckles chaotics a lot so I guess I just never thought it was such a rare game. I mean of course it's kind of rare just because of what platform it came out for but I would have thought that the game would have been ported to some new Sonic collections but it's never happened.
