I would love to see a study comparing men who train a martial arts together (BJJ in particular) compared to a group who doesn't train with other men. I trained in a gym with a very healthy culture. Day one you get a lesson in vulnerability! But you are surrounded by other men encouraging you to grow and not give up. It was wonderful for my mental and emotional health (and physical health, also). Let me know if you want me to collaborate on the next book π

I would love to see a study comparing men who have been trained to be vulnerable with those who have not and the results on marriage success over a long period of time.

The other issue too is that so many girls are raised to not accept boys that cry, and grow up to be women who do not accept men that cry.

Interesting, I think a major issue is boys are raised to do exactly that, meanwhile sisters are raised to be empathic to others needs.
If any, boys and everyone would benefit from getting raised to be empathic, help around the house, help their parents their siblings, family.

Thankyou for this post. This early learning process of teaching young boys not to express fear and sadness is a root cause of domestic violence. Because when women express fear, men do feel the sadness and fear but convert that feeling to aggression and anger. And that happens quite quickly.
