Hi, I'm Adel Tipora.
I like to think I’m marching to the beat of my own drum although I’m sure that’s not entirely true. Are our thoughts, decisions and actions ever entirely our own? Can they be in a society bound by rules, standards, expectations, and where increasingly, outside forces powered by the internet have influence over what we think and how we feel? In the end, we are all influenced by something, someone. It is true that expressing my personal creativity, whatever form that takes, is my current driving force but beyond that, what I am truly seeking, what I am yearning for, is the chance to rediscover my soul and free myself from all the influences that aren’t my own, or at the very least to name them and to become aware of how my life is being shaped by them. Who am I beneath the fear of being judged, the shame for desiring and the guilt for wanting to live authentically for myself? I want to find out. I need to find out! There isn’t much certainty in the world, but I am certain of this. My ultimate joy is within myself and as I tap into and unblock access to those parts of myself that I have denied, that make me who I am, the more I appreciate the world, my place in it and my connection to others. xx
