Excellent idea. I love it! Make a removable cover for the hooks to prevent magnetic debris. Magnets don't stick to aluminum and that's the direction modern truck are going towards.

It's really not a bad idea. I just throw the heavy end over so it's hanging and attach the hook end, the tension holds it and it usually works. But this is cool.

It appears to be useful. But they probably won't sell very many of them. We don't know the price for one. Another reason is that they're gimmicky. But the real clincher for me is that wherever they're stored between uses they'll be magnetizing everything they come in contact with. Tools especially. As far as I'm concerned a magnetized tool is a ruined tool. Every time you pick one up other things come along for the ride. I've had enough experiences of picking up a magnetized wrench and getting a handful of screws with it to say it's a problem. It's also the reason I refuse to own magnetic screwdrivers because those too will unintentionally magnetize other things.
I also want to know which type of magnets are being used. It makes a difference.

Good idea. Very good actually. Magnetic enough to grab firm but not crazy firm plus it keeps it in place when you gotta ratchet it down.
