the rico charge always seemed a stretch in the first place. pulling that out made the whole thing look like an attempt to take his money. i think had the focus really been on trafficking or what he was ultimately found guilty of, and there were more than survivors, it could have been taken more seriously. it was salacious and i think that lost credibility at the very beginning
