** Head tracking and ankle articulation are particularly important on âwide crossundersâ
Wide as in how far the crossunder foot (outside edge) lands from the crossover foot (inside edge).
Notice in that first rep how wide Mcdavids feet are when he Intially lands.
But, in the next couple reps he lands more narrow and he gets into more of a âleanedâ position with less ankle articulation.
The question then becomes should you land narrow or wide?? Well it depends on the situation...
Narrow will give you more lean (mass displacement) and allow you to travel on a tighter arc.
Whereas,
Landing wide will widen your arc, which is good for wide crosses or linear crosses.

You have to really use the crossover to propel you forward another big part of it is your stance you need to be low itâs a good knee bend and you need to be able to completey trust and rely on your edges to truly become a good skater.
