I only recently heard the idea that if a job sounds sexy and cool it's gonna be really steep odds to become the top 5% who really makes money at it. Like a musician, artist, actor. If the job sounds boring AF even the lower 20% in that field will still have a decent income, a house, reasonable vacations, ect... Like an accountant, warehouse manager, dental tech.

I mean… it’s called building your brand. You’re not going to hit a million subs in a day, not to mention you’re always splitting the money between all band members. If you could all live together, that’d stretch the money further. The fact that you’re starting to make money is a good sign, and you’re only calculating for if you never grow. Stick with it, and stop playing for the money in general. Make good music, have good times. And if you’re lucky, you’ll make it.

I felt so bad for this local musician when he told me his band paid a guy in Germany way too much money to paint their album cover because then he showed me the cover. I could have painted the exact same thing (but better. It really sucked) and I would have charged twenty bucks or even just a couple of beers. The music was awesome, I'd have done it for free.
