I was an athletic young man, but also tech-nerdy. I never met a Marine in my life until I met my recruiter in 1985. I fell in love with the Corps during that first conversation, went DEP. I promise, guarantee it was scary and very tough then. I drank in the challenge, they never lied to me, never disappointed. Just do it!

PT tests when I was in, it was not an option! I ran 1.5 to the mall in San Diego and 1.5 back every Wednesday and Friday night. PT to me was the hardest part, I would not fail that! Get in trouble for coming back a few minutes late from liberty call? No problem.😂

When I enlisted and first talked with my recruiter, that was the most nervous I ever was when deciding to go in. I still remember him saying to me, "Marines are just like normal, everyday people. We just do things better than everyone else." Sold.
