How to handle early labor.

So…you’re starting to feel some labor twinges. What should you do next?

As I’ve said before, ignore it until you can’t ignore it anymore. For many folks, the early stage of labor can anywhere from 12-24 hours

I recognize this advice can be hard to follow. After all, you’ve waited months to finally meet your baby and now the time is here!
But over focusing on your contractions and expending energy now may come back to bite you in the butt when labor has turned the corner and you need your energy to focus on the job at hand.

Here’s my suggestion! Plan ahead of time some labor projects. What are things you like to do that will be enjoyable and take your mind off of you watching your labor.

❤️Baking (I bet the hospital staff would love some freshly baked cookies)
❤️Take a walk. (Please don’t exhaust yourself)
❤️Watch a movie
❤️Do a puzzle
❤️Do some prenatal yoga
❤️Get your nails done
❤️Perfect time for a face mask!
❤️Sleep

When labor intensifies and your cookies are now burning you know it’s your labor has shifted into the next stage.
