I use paint with linseed oil and safflower oil as medium... works fine until now!

Please tell me The labels on your tubes often have a really nice structure. Could you please drop any tipps how i get this effect for example on a background of a painting? I've bought today my first Williamsburg color and it would be great if i could achieve that structure. I guess i have to work with much paint, a big brush and maybe without mineral spirits?
