You can cut a notch in the pickguard for quick access to the truss rod. I've seen some actual player grade vintage Fenders with that "mod".

As a guitar tech, I really hate guitars built like this.

Step 1. Tune to pitch. Step 2. Capo 1st fret. Step 3. With capo on, fret about 17th fret and use string as straight edge and determine if neck is concave or convex and which adjustment needed. Step 4. Leave capo in place and loosen strings and remove neck screws and gently pop neck heel up to expose truss rod and adjust accordingly. Step 5. Set neck back in pocket and start screws til loosely snug. Step 6. Remove capo and tighten both E strings just enough to use as guides to center neck in pocket so high E has enough room on frets to not roll off sides when fretted. Step 7. Tighten neck screws and tune to pitch. Step 8. Repeat steps 2 & 3 and check adjustment made. Repeat if necessary

How about cutting a small notch out of the pick guard, just enough to get a wrench onto the adjustment?

Maybe you could shave down the pickguard in that area to be able to adjust it with the pickguard on? My only concern is the pickup being in the way

As someone who owns a 50s style strat with a truss like this, i think it's way easier to do without strings on lmao people saying otherwise probably haven't tried to take off a pickguard while there's strings attached... not easy...

That neck was also used earlier for CBS style 70s clones. It's a 70s headstock cut back to not have fender sue them over headstock shapes.

Holy s*** it isn't solid wood...
But for me, it's easier to set the neck off and adjust it.

Also, Stewmac sells an end piece replacement for that kind of truss rod that makes it way easier to access. I don't remember what it's called, but it could be worth checking out

in the late 80s and early 90s harmonies truss rod adjuster use to stick out past the bottom of the neck so you can see it without loosening the strings or taking anything apart

I'd make a secret little compartment in the pickguard, cut a piece out where truss rod lines up,then use that same piece to put back with a screw eachside, into the meat of the guitar each side of the truss rod,so pickguard looks same.

Dude unscrew the pick ups and the pick guard will come right out no problem just watch out because they are springs similar to one's used in pens so you can adjust your pick up and they don't move around but what I just watch there made me wanna scream

Warmoth puts their truss rod adjustments on the bottom of the neck where it can be very easily reached with an Allen key. IMO it is the most revolutionary thing to ever happen in guitar design and I wish more companies would follow suit.

I have a plywood Sebring SB-10 Strat style guitar. Bought it new. Put a Duncan Performer humbucker in it, if I remember correctly it's based on the SD Distortion. I'm never going to sell it. Bought a Crate GX -15R at the same time. I'm keeping that too.

It's ABSOLUTELY easier.
You only take the pickguard off and loosen the strings once.
Versus neck on, neck off, neck on, neck off...

My black Harmony (same style as yours) didn’t have that notch!

Bore a hole from the back side and make a small plastic cover to hide it
My first drumset was a harmony drumset from jc penny's when I was 7. I played the crap out of it and it was well made for a cheap set.

i see some people remove pick guards by placing a capo on the 3rd fret or so, and making it super loose.
