We never call Christmas and Easter holidays in the U.K. They were indeed called Holy Days many years ago, but now people would say ‘What are you doing over the break?’. Also, as most people have at least 4 weeks holiday to take per working year, they take a break from Christmas Eve to a few days after New Year’s Day. Americans need more time off!

We have holidays which are paid time off or just pleasurable overseas trips which you call vacations and we have bank holidays which are national holidays which you call holidays. They’re all holidays because they’re paid time off from work.
Snogging is an informal word for kissing or intimacy. Pigs don’t snog. Kissing is still our more fornal word for kissing. That’s literally where the Americans got the word kissing from 😂
