I enjoy looking at the art of each frame which I can't really do if I'm ready subtitles. It's also nice to not feel rushed to read it. Not to mention im supporting American jobs.

I think growing up with 90s anime dubs has helped me appreciated how much Western dubs have come along since the bad old days. I'm pretty sure one of the earlier dubs for Akira had the same voice actor as Michelangelo in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles... That shit is jarring.

I always watch in sub but honestly people can enjoy anime however they want so respect to both dub and sub watchers. I just prefer sub because I like hearing the language and the original voices but that’s just a personal preference 🤷♀

I’m not a big fan of dub depending on which shows they are. Some shows have good dubs but there’s also specific jokes in the sub that are reliant on Japanese references, which even if you don’t speak Japanese you might be able to catch.

The dub is for accessibility, for those that won't watch the sub at least they can bring in those people on the dub. Personally reading is easier and the Japanese voices sound more pleasant so I go sub all the way.

I used to be a dub hater before I became good enough at Japanese to not need English subs anymore, then I realized it’s dumb as hell to favour one over the other, if you don’t wanna read subtitles why not, it’s not like you understand what they’re saying 😭

It depends on which anime. I watch some in sub and some in dub. Dub is more relaxing since you can do other stuff too
