On 2 October 2024, during the auspicious occasion of Mahalaya Amavasya (Sarvapitr Amavasya), special rituals and pujas were conducted at Adi Sankara Nilayam. On this significant day, Shraddha (devotional offering to the ancestors) was performed for the upliftment of all pitrs and for invoking their blessings.

Under the guidance of Swami Sharadananda Sarasvati, the day commenced with the Gadadhara Gaya Vishnu Puja, followed by the chanting of Kathopanishad Chapter 1 and then proceeded with Sarvapitr Tarpana and Pindadana. As part of the ceremonies, Dasha Danam was offered to Brahmanas (honouring them with ten gifts: Land or Chandanam, Tila, Gold, Ghee, Clothes, Grains, Sweet, Silver, Salt, and Cow). Brahmana Bhojanam was also conducted.

Additionally, Tila homa was performed at the Chinmaya Swayambhu Ayyappa Temple. The day concluded with Bhiksha – Annadanam, generously offered by the devotees.

This special occasion reminded the importance of remembrance and gratitude, uniting hearts in devotion to ancestors. In addition to those who participated in-person, many devotees joined the celebration live through the Chinfo YouTube Channel.
