Whether it's a temple or a mosque, a shrine or a church, At all these religious places, whatever amount of money you donate the biggest question is how and where these donations are utilized.

Because India's religious economy Is worth 3 lakh Crores, out of which, among the 9 lakh temples in India, 4 lakh temples are under government control, but the remaining 5 lakh temples, along with any church, mosque, or shrine are not under government control, which makes it very difficult to track their donations or expenses.

Speaking of temples, like the Tirupati temple, this year itself the Tirupati trust had a record-breaking annual budget of 4400 Crores.

Out of which, 50 crores are given to the government of Andhra Pradesh, while 1680 crores are spent on employee salaries and loans.

The remaining money amount is bifurcated or allotted as follows:

300 Crores for engineering work, 178 Crores for security then 135 Crores for maintenance and advertisement then 690 Crores for offerings (Prasadam) and 352 Crores for schools, colleges, and hospitals.

Additionally, 324 Cr are kept in the temple's bank. While 600 Crores are kept on the side as an investment corpus.
