Compost has lots of available nutrients. Over time, the dried plant matter will break down and become avaiable as nutrients. But, the immediate availability piece is not here. Just spread out your plant matter, dry it, and toss it in your blender. It is likely to mold when you moisten it, though, so composting it instead would be a good idea.

In Germany we have a definition for what comopsting is. Compost is the process of rotting of biodegradble material, that's why the process is called "composting", whereas humus is the finished compost that has no more rottable material and is ready to be used for your plamts. So for me, this is some form of compost, because it consists of compostable materials and will turn into humus.
I have never seen any english speaking gardening video that makes this distinction, that's why some probably don't consider this "compost".
