I also wanted to start a Christmas village till I saw the price for ONE π I said oh yeah. Itβs going to take me a good 5-8 years to get a good village going . I opted out and went with the 50 dollars train set from Home Depot! It goes under your tree, it battery operated & it comes in Grinch and Mickey Mouse

I have my little Village from Dollar Tree, $1.00 a piece (well, now $1.25 a piece), my litte village grew over the years, I i have a small table top tree I bought 14 years ago for $5.00 on clearance, that's the town tree, each year I have a tree lighting ceremony, the grandkids (who are now probably getting too old for this) come over, we have Christmas cookies & hot chocolate after the ceremony, I'm hoping I get to do this for a few more years before everybody runs away & become people or put me in a room with soft walls π€£π€£π€£π€£π€£ππππ; prayers peace & blessings Rosa, to you & your fa

I can relate. I hate holidays. To me they mean lots of extra work and stress that most of the time no one really cares about or appreciates. When my kids were little I hid how bad I hated them and made sure they always had amazing holidays but now that theyβre grown not so much. I figure once I have some grandkids I will go back to loathing in silence. π

Ever since this summer I've had no drive at all to decorate for any holiday or season, despite having all the stuff on hand! Just looking at it all like 'great take you down pack it up and put away then draaaag the next storage container out and haul everything out now where to place it all' I KNOW it'll only take like 2hrs but by golly I've been such a grump about it π

I like doing our own family stuff mostly in the season (go for a drive to look at Santa lights, get all our Christmassy books out, kids go to carols practice, and watch Christmas movies together). I would ask for the family (extended) to put in a bit of effort all year around versus overwhelming the kids in the Australian summer with forced family interactions. More time that way for it all.π
