Have them check for warranty. Some kias are loosing to much oil causing cam shaft bearings to gobad. We are in the process of getting our engine replaced right now. Also if the car is in the class of cars with the recall they extended powertrain warranties to 15 year 150,000 but you need the ksds update

I change oil and I had someone who didn’t believe me thought I was scamming him that he’s NEVER had a problem with his kia (gdi) motors and calls his mechanic and tells him same thing I did lmao sucks but I wasn’t trying to scam
