I took it as a chance to claim / reclaim my self; my agency. Choose your own adventure. "Choose your right words" a la 'The Labyrinth' or someone/ something will choose it for you. If you acknowledge your self & your innate right to be, leap through the firey ring of semantics & shame & let '100% responsible for your life or your a victim' resonate then choosing to do rather than be done by is liberating. I'll write it rather than be written on. Choose your own reaction perhaps? I didn't choose my hell but i can't negate the truth that the 'gravitational' pull in me to light, joy ,love, truth, understanding etc might also had propelled me towards (but not having literally consciously chosen) what created 'my trauma'. No one should be 'blammed' for whats perpetrated upon them. But i find it empowering to know/rremember that 'we' are allowed to turn our light on it, write ourselves (literally & metaphorically) out & away from 'it' rather than be 'victimised' in the dark. Too many words? Yes. The life i"ve curated compelled me to write/right this. Victim blaming is beyond inhuman. Its rarely as simple as 'get up stand up'. Your an author. Your comment inspired me to write this (i'm not the victim - passive, meek & left in the past; blamed.... I am now. I am allowed to be).I am surviving & choose to do so 🫶
