That is not how you girl carrots I mean, you still use the top that you have to soak it in water for like two weeks then put it in so when they have weeks, I’ve been going to since like two years now so all you need to do is use the top take the top part of a carrot then soak it in water for like two weeks. They’re gonna grow spouts then put them in soil for I don’t know until the girl bigger and bigger. You need to water them two times each day for each 12 hours water them a little bit then when it goes flowers wait until they dry up then cut them put a plate or a paper towel down then there will be seeds inside the flower now you need to harvest the seeds out sometimes there will be bugs in it. It will be OK if you don’t like bugs wear gloves and I hope that helps you grow carrots because I’ve been carrots for two years

Growing two 1-2cm thick carrot tops right next to each other in this kind of cup is not the most productive way. If anything I’d suggest just one per cup like this. And the dirt should be well drained and not too clumpy.

Growing roots is called chitting and chitting carrots like this will grow long and tall foliage at the top which can grow bushes that will bloom flowers on it. You can take those flowers and plant the seeds that come from them to grow whole new carrots
