Did they do it using different frequencies for each console so we won’t awaken our Switch 2 & our old Switch simultaneously when we only want to wake up one of them?

in addition to official first party controllers, there are many third party ones, especially those officially licensed, that can do this with switch.
just guessing nintendo wants to get rid of that, so they had to do the same to their own controllers.
maybe a firmware update could add it back? not sure. it would suck for all the classic controllers, but honestly i used them rarely.

Maybe they already had planned for the Home button on the Switch 1 Controllers to wake the switch 2, but they probably had trouble getting it to work and probably can't fix it before the Switch 2 release date, so they're probably gonna leave that bit incompatible until they can fix it.
