They don't make movies like that very often anymore. Great stuff ( old school)

You have to also thank former Chicago outfit guy Frank Culotta for consulting with Scorsese. Some of these scenes came from his dealings with the ANT Spolatro. Also the use of the word Jag-off. Chicagoans say jagoff, East coast it’s jerkoff.

I thought Nicky acted with perfect decorum here. The man was very rude

"So, how's your husband doing with his casting process and working with the actors and all that?" uncomfortable Marcia Lucas sounds

CT here. Always been jerkoff. You may come across someone saying jag-off like this every now and then but it is meant to be humorous I suppose. Switching up its pronunciation, similar to how many times the word "bitcc" is changed up real quik to "bee-otch!' Like I said, its a humours type way of saying it. Where as if I indeed wanted to call somebody a complete jerkoff and mean every word, I would pronounce the word as it is meant to be pronounced and there would be no sarcasm or joke about it. But not gonna lie, that jag-off has a certain ring to it. The east coast is really home to many accents. Some similar and some that are close to home but seem like a completely new sound, unheard before. Yo, I was at Ace hardware last month here in Los Angeles. Been here going on 9-almost 10 years. Originally from Hartford. Had friends from Boston, Springfield, and the Bronx. Got family in Queens and my wife and in-laws are from Brooklyn. Yeah I know, won the lottery with that one. I mention all that to say that I been around and heard many tones from many tongues from many people. So I am at Ace and walked up to checkout. The cashier complimented me on my Buffalo Bills fitted hat I had on. Yo.....this dude's accent was unwordly. Heard it? Never heard it? Is that Boston with a touch of Australian? Had to ask since he is my best friend and all now ya know? After the generous hat compliment and all. Said "bro, I have to ask. Where in the world is your accent from?" He looked at me and said, "wow, thought you caught on after the comment. I am from Buffalo New York bro." Here I am thinking I been around the 5 boroughs and have an ear to identify the birthplace of a sloth, but nope. That was kinda weird and cool at the same time. Accents are an interesting part of linguistics in general. But why that accent was sooo darn defined I will never know

Meanwhile I just watched an interview with Pesci and he says barely anything in Goodfellas was improved because Scorsese is so brilliant at creating there’s no reason to go off script. So wtf is this guy talking about
