You are so kind to all wildlife. I wish the world had more people like you and Gabby. I didn’t realize a cottonmouth was a dark color. We only have copperheads and timber rattlers in East Tennessee. I had a snake on my front porch a few months ago. It was about 4 feet long, black with gray markings. I just tapped my foot on the porch and it went on its way. Any idea what species?

Have you noticed any cottonmouths around your small pond? Hopefully they won't be an issue for the emu's, dogs, or you while walking in or around pond.
