Stop dismissing the military so quickly! #shorts

Why do people so quickly dismiss the military as a career option?

Everyday I see individuals on local Facebook groups searching for work who are fully qualified to serve in the military BUT—Despite their qualifications, they often choose not to enlist due to their opinions about the current administration or dissatisfaction with the state of affairs.

These individuals struggle to find employment that matches their education and qualifications because they face a challenging job market. How has the military, which aims to provide opportunities, tangible skills and countless benefits, become the bad guy.

i’m talking about people who won’t even entertain the option and would rather stay in their current situation (good or bad) rather than learn about what the military has to offer.

What are your thoughts on this?

Bro I applied to so many internships because I am trying to get a computer science degree. While getting work experience and I felt like nobody wanted to at least hear me out. I felt so fed up, so I thought what about the military. I am glad I took that choice because I am currently in the process for working for the marines in cyber security. The experience so far has been great and I feel like my career is falling into place now. To the point where I am looking into becoming an officer in the cyber space for the marines.

People are lazy, don’t want to work. Plenty of jobs everywhere. I was in the Navy from 89-93. Great four years. The military is a great opportunity if you’re motivated!

I tried to find a job that was fast food. Joins the Army on Jun 04, 1982, did my 3 years, and joined the Navy for 20 years. Most military jobs will not put you in danger. Many will get training PLUS Experience. After 6 years in the service, you can buy a house with zero down and own a home with a VA loan. That got me 3 houses all Plus. You can have the GI bill and go back to school.

I graduated from MCRD San Diego in 1988 and was stationed in MCAS El Toro from 1989 to 1992 as a C-130 engine mechanic. The only time I left El Toro was in August of 1990 for Operation Desert Shield and I was gone for 7 months. I loved my time in the Corps but when my son asked me about joining the Marines, I said "HELL NO". I told him go to college for an engineering degree or a trade school, but if he was adamant about joining the service, I told him the Air Force was his only option.

I would rather not have the military ruin my body and not take accountability for it, I’ve had to watch my dad not get care because the VA won’t claim any of it as service related. Fuck no I’m not doing that

i mean if its not for them its not for them. i would say at least sit down with a recruiter and listen to your options. just because you talk to a recruiter doesn’t mean you have to enlist

14 yr veteran here - wouldn't recommend fighting for Biden but would if the leadership had 1/2 an ounce of morals.
