This is actually perfect because it represents something that happens in comics. There are usually 2 types of Batman when reading comics, Batman and detective comics. Batman is more centered around the actual superhero universe and how it functions while detective comics is more centered around detective storyโs and focuses on Batman. And this is exactly what we are seeing in these two movies, James guns more superhero heavy Batman and Robert parisons more detective and gritty Batman
