If Titan had not immediately exploded it would have surfaced due to its positive buoyancy. And if the vessel had not imploded immediately why would it do later? So the scenario of the people on board being there for some time awaiting help looks inconsistent with the wreckage found. Means, the thing imploded and that was it.

Well it obviously was something else because the sub imploded in a fraction of a second so I highly doubt red mist in the water was knocking the next day.
