Check out the full movie! Javelina 100 Miles Ultra Marathon was my 16th and final 100 miles ultra marathon of 2024. For the past 5 years, Javelina Jundred is Nora and I end of the year party, where we get to spend time with friends, and miles on trails.

Javelina 100 miles is a 5 x 20 miles loop course in the desert close to Phoenix, Arizona. Organized by Aravaipa running, this is one of the premiere ultra marathon in the US - with 800 participant in the 100 miles (and several hundred more in the 100km and 31k). Golden Tickets to participate in Western States Endurance Race are given to the best runners. But for your average runners like myself, what makes this race unique is the vibe!

Because every year, this race happens just before Halloween. And unless you go for a Golden Ticket (and even if...), you come and race in costume! After Luigi and Forrest Gump - I'm this year dressed as Waldo. Yes it's silly. Yes it is childish. But hey, if it makes people smile, I'm all for it!

Unlike prior year, I did not aim for a sub24. I was less than a week remove from Diagonale des Fous, and my body was still feeling it. I was even still jetlagged, so finishing was the main goal. Finishing, and getting my sub30 buckle, and my 5x100 miles finisher jersey!
