This is good advice but the problem here is that you’re using guidelines for a bottom view and placing it onto a 3/4 view of the character. The angles are completely different

This is a fine tip generally, but the reference you’re using as a guideline to overlay NEEDS to be from a similar head angle. Facial features appear to be way closer or further away from each other depending on the head angle, and discounting that can lead to faulty facial proportions. Your drawing and the reference you overlayed were two entirely different head angles — if you followed the overlay exactly, you would have ended up with a really, really wonky face. You didn’t, and I can tell you’re a good artist, but perhaps don’t gloss over that aspect as it’s pretty key to the entire point of this.
Not trying to be a stickler, but I really don’t think this was explained as well as it could have been.
