This is the first video I've seen where you can't fix it. I'm honestly impressed with EVERYTHING you can fix.

On another note, thanks for all the good info you guys share on this channel. Our electric clothes dryer calved last night, and I recalled you checking the thermal fuse on a video before. Checked it, sure enough it was blown. $9 part off Amazon and it’s good as new!
Thanks again!

Soon as I saw it, and you said the top bolt was hard to get to, I knew it was a Ford, as I hate replacing starters on f150s for this reason lol
they are such a pain

Haven't seen that on a 6.2 yet. I usually just take the bottom two bolts and break the top ear on the starter if I'm not saving it. Lots of modular engines and 6.2L and 5.0L running around with two starter bolts.

You need to buy some swivel sockets. Makes life easier for off angle connections to remove the bolts on the starter

I was going to put my own on in a parking lot but noticed that that last bolt on top was going to be a challenge. So i took my truck down to the ford store and since i was just passing through they fit me in and had it changed out in no time. I left them a coffee fund tip for doing it. But they charge what the book say instead of how long it takes. But the ford guy used a short itty bitty wrench for that challenging bolt on top.

Should’ve taken a screwdriver, spun the flywheel little bit then at least you could’ve started it and drove it would save you a tow bill

SOMETIMES, those bolts can be reached with a 3-4 foot extension alongside the transmission. A good set of u-joint sockets works wonders too. And a little neversieze going back together. Love your videos!

This happened to my truck, starter came loose and chewed up the flywheel, luckily I was able to bump start it to drive it home

Frame looks mint but everything else looks really crusty. Hows that happen?

Just keep a bleaker bare with the proper crank bolt socket and turn the engine when that spot comes round

Well,.... you really can be that disappointed.

I mean it is a " FORD " after all...!!!!

LOL 😂

Once you've done a handful of them, that top bolt doesn't bother ya anymore

There’s always one that one bolt that is difficult to remove. Doesn’t matter what you’re working on, there’s always one. Damn engineers and their “great ideas”.
