We hiked at Santa Susana Pass State Historic Park to reach the historic Old Santa Susana Stage Road. The first recorded mention of the pass was in 1804 to travel from the San Buenaventura Mission to Mission San Fernando. The Stagecoach Trail was later in use for 34 years, from 1861 – 1895 as a route for travelers between the San Fernando Valley and Simi Valley.

Santa Susana State Park is part of the California State Parks systems. It is located where the Simi Hills meet the Santa Susana Mountains. The stage road was declared City of Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument #92 (January 5, 1972) and Ventura County Historical Landmark #104 (October 24, 1986).
