Where is OCS for the Navy, Annapolis MD.? I wonder if they still turn out the same quality of geniuses that they did in the 60's?
At that time I was reprimanded for changing a light bulb in a "drop light". I was a Gunner's Mate working on a gun mount. " Sailor, you are a Gunner's Mate?" I said, yes sir. I should have said, "Aye Sir!" but didn't. The officer said " then you need to take that to the E.T. shop and have them change that bulb." I said, yes sir.
I was qualified to handle powder and ammunition for 3"50 and 5 inch guns and fire them but changing a light bulb was beyond my expertise.
I expect that officer eventually found a home at the Pentagon.
During Vietnam civilian jobs in Missouri didn't pay squat. Less than $2 an hour/40hrs a week, before taxes. That's why I joined. Now with plentiful jobs, all paying minimum $10 an hour and the evening news showing the world that America is afraid to deliver deserved ass kicking s to slimy 3rd world countries that every day are attacking and killing our troops with drones and missiles. And Uncle Sam is looking for more enlistments? There isn't that many stupid people living in the U.S.A.
A commander in chief 90 years old, too vain to wear eye glasses and they're looking for volunteers to stand on deck and bend over for the enemy? Sure, be all you can be and pick up your complimentary bucket of Vaseline on your way to the middle east.😂
