"And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do(ποιεῖτε) in remembrance(ἀνάμνησις) of me." (Luke 22:19)
ποιεῖτε means 'to offer' It's the same word used in the book of Leviticus in the Geek suptuagent to offer up a sacrifice. If He simply ment to just do it Luke would have used a word like ποιέω.
ἀνάμνησις thats translated 'rememberence' means not just to remember, but 'to make present again' So, the one sacrifice (Hebrews 10:10) has always been represented at the Holy Mass.

I have to say this as a Catholic and that is there’s a part in the scriptures when Jesus Christ says that I have the power to lay my life down as many times as I want to and I have the power to take up up life as many times as I want to,now please forgive me if I said this incorrectly but there is a place in the scriptures that Jesus says this. And I’m so mystified by his saying, what is our Lord and God meaning when he said those words

Read Scott Hahn's books, The Lamb's Supper and The Fourth Cup. EXCELLENT explanations of the Eucharist and Christ's sacrifice. As he explains, under the Old Covenant, the Jews had to sacrifice AND CONSUME the lamb. It was not enough to just sacrifice the lamb, they had to eat the lamb or they would not have fulfilled the covenant. The Eucharist was not just intended for the Apostles at the last supper, but for all believers. The miracle of the Eucharist is the only way all believers throughout time are able to consume the true Lamb of God under the New Covenant. As Jesus said, "My flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life within you". Jesus commanded us to receive his body and blood in the Eucharist. In The Fourth Cup, Dr. Hahn explains the meanings of the four cups of wine that are part of the Passover sacrificial meal. Jesus begins His sacrifice with the first cup in the Upper Room and finishes the fourth cup, which signifies the completion of the of Passover covenant, on Calvary. "It is finished", the words Jesus said on the cross after taking the wine offered to Him before he dies, are the final words of the Passover sacrifice. The Eucharist is not symbolic.
