Frieda, it is wonderful how humans adapt and thrive in different environments. I live in the west, Arizona, and for the most part we want our space. Single family homes with big yards. Very different than the Williamsburg neighborhood. Both are lovely. Thank you

If i had to live in any New York neighborhood, I would choose either Brighton Beach or Williamsburg. Why? I feel much more comfortable in relatively safe ethnic and/or religious communities with strong identities. I once stayed in an Airbnb very close to Williamsburg and loved it. I feel comfortable in places where I can explore and learn about the prevailing culture, and no one bothers me. I dont care for trendy places. I prefer communities where family life is valued.

About 20 years ago I was a secretary in an office. One morning a group of people led by an arrogant woman walked in. The woman wanted to interview someone about a major crime story that took place next door to my office. When I asked her who she was she looked at me. You don’t know who I am? she asked incredulously. She was some famous TV anchorwoman. I had know idea I don’t have a TV. She then walked out like a deflated balloon.

This is so cool. This reminds me of my childhood. I grew up in a private house in Brooklyn , NY with our own decent front and back yard . Yet, I was so jealous of my friends who lived in apartment buildings with those types of window bars because they could sit in that little “cage” as they observed their world around them.
I also had no idea that Justin and Hailey Bieber ever lived in Williamsburg . That’s a real fun fact 😀

I am orthodox and live right near the chassidish community, my psychology teacher said that she had a few celebrities as clients since they like to get a break and be in a place where no one knows who they are when they come here
