Our Lucy builds into it with her little "what!" Noise. Something gets her attention, Her face perks up all alert, then there's a few "what!".... "what!"... then the baying starts.
Usually I can distract her from playing tug of war by quickly looking up behind her and making the same noise. She'll drop the toy and take off baying like a mad fool 😆. And she knows I do it to trick her. I usually have to do it a few times now and she'll look at me like "you never mean it when you do that... you're always trying to trick meBUTICAN'TRISKITIFTHERE'SSOMETHINGTHEREIHAVETOGOBARKNOW!!!!"... and she's gone.
I like that the other dogs seem so confused by what they're doin

Lol my hound dog and a Black and Tan were "fighting" like this. Both had their hackles up and just stood there rooing at eachother. It seems as though hounds are very slow to move to physical violence. Perhaps because they were bred to hunt in packs and if you had a lot of fights, it would ruin the hunt? She was also chewing on a bone once and something caught her attention. Our schitzu took it right from between her paws. So she just starts rooing like, "moooooom, my bone got stolen." It may just be mine, but it seems like a lot of hounds are like little saints.
